Yacht Technical Manager
Position Summary
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Technical Yacht Manager with deep expertise in marine engineering and vessel operations to oversee the technical performance of a growing fleet of private and charter yachts.

Position Overview
The Senior Technical Yacht Manager is responsible for vessels requiring elevated technical supervision and direct project execution. The position ensures yachts operate safely, efficiently, and in full regulatory compliance while maintaining strict cost control.
Primary focus areas include preventative maintenance planning, defect management, refit coordination, shipyard periods, compliance oversight, and continuous support to owners and captains. We are looking for a confident technical leader who combines hands-on expertise with strong project management skills and professional, client-facing communication.
Core Responsibilities

Direct all technical management activities for assigned yachts, including maintenance strategy, troubleshooting, and long-term asset planning

Oversee adherence to flag state, class society, insurance, and international regulatory standards

Manage refits, dry dockings, system upgrades, and major technical projects from planning through completion

Prepare detailed scopes of work, administer bid processes, review proposals, and supervise contractor performance

Contribute to budgeting, cost forecasting, and financial risk evaluation

Maintain organized technical documentation and provide clear, consistent reporting to owners

Collaborate closely with captains, chief engineers, shipyards, surveyors, and technical vendors

Support vessel audits, inspections, certification processes, and safety management compliance
Required Experience & Qualifications

Extensive background as a Chief Engineer, Captain, Marine or Mechanical Engineer, Naval Architect, or with a recognized class or flag authority

Strong practical knowledge of vessel systems, including mechanical, electrical, HVAC, AV/IT, and hydraulic systems

Demonstrated success managing refits, shipyard periods, and technical upgrade projects

Financial proficiency with budgeting and cost optimization strategies

Working knowledge of IMO conventions and regulations, including ISM, SOLAS, MARPOL, and STCW

Ability to interpret and analyze technical drawings and specifications

Polished communication skills with a professional, owner-facing presence

Availability for international travel as needed

Experience operating within Florida and Caribbean cruising regions is advantageous
